The ANCARES Supra-regional Operational Group has made a new informative infographic available to the public. It provides a clear and concise visual summary of the project’s main objectives, lines of work, expected results and benefits.
The material offers an at-a-glance overview of the challenge addressed by ANCARES: highlighting the importance of soil in dairy farming and supporting the transition towards more sustainable, efficient farms that are better connected to their surrounding territories. To achieve this, the project uses tools such as digital mapping, soil analysis, remote sensing and predictive algorithms to improve knowledge and management of carbon in agroecosystems.
The infographic also explains the different stages of the project’s work process, from territorial characterisation and the physical, chemical and biological analysis of soil to the development of models, digital maps and tools designed to support decision-making on farms. It also shows the project’s areas of activity, located in Galicia and Asturias.

The consortium consists of the Galician Association of Agri-food Cooperatives (Agaca), Capsa Food, Central Lechera Asturiana, the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), the University of Oviedo (UniOvi), Cetemas and Medrar Innovation Office.

An innovation project of general interest developed by supra-regional operational groups of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI), within the framework of Spain’s Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (PEPAC). The Directorate-General for Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-food Training (DGDRIFA) is the authority responsible for implementing this funding programme. The funding is provided by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (80%) and the Spanish General State Administration (20%). Total project budget: €596,769.91.
